Q: When do you start to see results from Neurotoxin treatments?

Botox® – The effects of Botox® can be observed within 10-14 days after treatment and can last between 2 and 4 months. Dysport® – Results can be seen within two days after a Dysport® treatment and can last up to four months. Jeuveau® – Results from Jeuveau® are usually seen between three and five days and last between three and six months.

The use of injectable neurotoxins (also known as neuromodulators), such as Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®, are used to treat and minimize fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily preventing the movement of specific muscles. Over time, constant facial expressions can cause permanent lines on the face. The underlying muscles are relaxed by strategically injecting the neurotoxins (containing botulinum toxin A), causing lines and wrinkles in the treatment area to diminish or even disappear for up to four months.

How do Neurotoxins work?

Neurotoxins reduce the activity of facial muscles, particularly around the eyes and forehead, thereby preventing wrinkles. These injections temporarily paralyze these specific facial muscles for a few months, which provides a relaxing effect to otherwise tense facial expressions. The effects of facial paralysis are especially beneficial for people who develop wrinkles from repetitive facial expressions.
